Project Background

Frequent grid outages remain one of the biggest challenges for farms and rural businesses across South Africa. To help secure stable and predictable energy, Gogreen deployed a 100kW/215kWh solar-plus-storage-diesel hybrid system for a local farm.

Our 100kW/215kWh ESS works seamlessly with the onsite PV system—
✔ During sunny hours: PV generation charges the battery and powers farm operations.
✔ When PV is insufficient or the grid goes down: The integrated diesel generator automatically activates as a backup source.
✔ Through our seamless switching technology, power remains uninterrupted, protecting critical loads and ensuring continuous production.

This hybrid setup not only enhances energy reliability, but also reduces diesel consumption, maximizes PV utilization, and minimizes operational risks for the farm.
